Hi Amazees!

30 Jun

looks like my blog has been pretty quiet recently…

well, can’t be blamed..i’ve been busy…enjoying my life!! haha..truthfully, life has been looking bright and rosy for me since i switched jobs. so it shows..doing what you really enjoy AND having a nicer boss, makes a real big difference!

last weekend was considered my most ‘shiong’ weekend, coz i had 3 events spread across friday, saturday and sunday – 1 corporate event and 2 weddings..all with over 300 pax turnout!  i’m glad i’ve upgraded myself..now being able to handle even bigger scale events as compared to those less than 100 pax events at my ex-company =)

even though weddings can be really hectic coz we start our day at 6am and end our day past 12 midnight, but the fun part is that we get to enjoy the ‘gatecrash’ process which can be very entertaining..and also get to meet lots of nice and friendly people..and the joyous atmosphere just makes one naturally happy!

yeah so the purpose of this post is not to let my blog rot and just to let you know i’m doing good! =)

will be back to blog when i’ve more inspirations!

Amazing stuff to share!

10 Jun

I haven’t been blogging not because there isn’t anything interesting in my life..in fact, there are more interesting stuffs in my life now than ever before! but it’s just that i have been pretty occupied during my weekends, with weddings (which means work) and also my social life =)

Well one of the fun things that happened last weekend was dear’s friend’s (which is of course my friend too) surprise birthday party at McDonald’s which we had planned for him. really feel as if we went back to our childhood days..acting like kids, being entertained by our hosts who were roughly 10 years younger than us! haha. look at the happy kids below!

Btw the purpose of this post is actually to introduce a new term i heard today – Molecular Gastronomy. Ok maybe you guys have heard it before, then it’ll mean i’m sua ku..haha. anyway i decided to do a little research on it. This is a form of technique that chefs are experimenting with, to whip up flavour-filled foams, jellies and the like to punctuate their styles of cooking. here are some pics of molecular cuisines!

Looks interesting huh? anyway i read that singapore has some restaurants which serve such cuisines..i’m actually interested to try! but suspect it might be quite expensive..well, shall see whether  i’m ever granted the chance to try it! haha.

My Amazing 25th Birthday!

25 May

my 25th birthday was amazingly spent though hitting 25 is nothing amazing! haha.

my birthday celebration was a simple and affectionate affair – spent with my dearest boy who painstakingly whipped up  a 3-course dinner for me. he had his trial run a couple of days before my bday and was worried about not being able to get his recipes right. in the end, he fared well! at least better than me, i have never even tried cooking those dishes before..oops..haha. see below for the dishes the chef came up with!

1st course: clam chowder soup

2nd course: pan seared crispy salmon, mashed potato, sausage wrapped in bacon, mushroom and cherry tomatoes

and the last course which was my favorite coz it was really well done: warm chocolate lava cake with mango sorbet (which my dear has lovingly named it ‘Mango Claradise’ =p)

so sweet of him, isn’t it? =p ok i’ll spare you all of further mushiness haha…

anyway after enjoying my ‘ai xin’ dinner, we headed down to Iluma to catch the movie “The Last Song” which was very touching coz it depicted a father’s love..made me tear so much on my birthday =( but it’s ok, i like touching movies!

well what comes after a late-night movie? supper! haha.. so dear & i walked over to selegie road to eat the silky smooth rochor beancurd before cabbing back to his place for the night.

and next morning, it was time to indulge again! had our sunday brunch @ Spruce, some cafe along tanglin road..love exploring cafes tucked away in the not-so-common areas of singapore, where the ambience is usually more relaxing =)

anyway after the brunch, i had to work coz there was a wedding dinner that night but no complains about that. every wedding is a joyous and touching affair to me which is why i  totally enjoy what i’m doing now..it makes me happy seeing happy couples =)

aMazing M&M’s

19 May

Anxious me would love to share my first interesting find today!

Just a couple of days back, Hui told me a friend of hers is getting married..and the couple’s names start with the letter ‘M’ and they both love M&M’s, so they are contemplating to have an M&M’s-themed wedding, which was pretty interesting i would say! And it seems they are already getting some M&M’s-related wedding favors.

So today, as i was doing some research on the net at work, i suddenly thought about the M&M’s favors and decided to do a search on it. And i realised M&M’s actually do personalized M&M’s (not sure if that is what Hui’s friend did)! Look at this – http://www.mymms.com/customprint_faces/ So cool isn’t it? Especially the one with the faces!

And look at these shimmery M&M’s..so pretty!

Well, guess the only issue is whether the M&M’s will be well intact when they reach Singapore. so who wants to give it a try? =p

Welcome Amazees!

19 May

This new blog in wordpress came about because my dear was encouraging me to learn how to use wordpress and to play around with the functions. so here i am, trying my hand at it!

With the birth of my new blog, instead of the usual updates on my weekend programmes which probably didn’t really interest you,  i’ve decided to change my style of writing – to share with you guys about interesting finds that i chance upon, some ideas or inspirations that randomly pops out of my head, and of course, things that i’ve done or places that i’ve visited which are worth mentioning!

And so that’s how i conjured up the domain name for this blog – a medium for me to jot down anything that amazes me along the way – it can good, it can be bad..written just the way i like =) So stay tuned!

P/S: i hope there is some nice friend out there still reading my blog! leave me a comment if you are k?
